WE WANT THE UK TO PROSPER

That means a growing economy, better jobs, affordable prices and opportunities for people in every part of the country. It means businesses can invest and succeed, public services can improve and parents can see a bright future for their children.

Right now, the economy is struggling. Taxes are going up. Unemployment is rising. Living standards are stagnant. Keir Starmer and Rachel Reeves have been a big disappointment.

Prosper UK aspires to bring together people from politics, business and public life who believe the country can do better. Who want a more practical, honest approach to the challenges Britain faces. We think the UK deserves better than a choice between Labour and Nigel Farage at the next election – and only the Conservative Party can provide that alternative. But to do so, it must be fully committed to a practical, centre-right approach. That’s where the space is in British politics. And that’s what will deliver the prosperity we need.

But Prosper UK is reaching out to the whole country, not just the Conservative Party.

We are launching a national conversation about how Britain can prosper again.

We want to listen, develop credible ideas and show that there is a reasonable majority in this country who want serious solutions and a more honest politics.

If you share these values, sign up as a supporter and be part of the conversation.

Together, we can help the UK prosper.

What we stand for:

Prosperity starts with growth.

We believe:

  • Businesses create that growth, not government
  • Prosperity requires tough decisions and prioritising what’s right for the long term over short term political popularity
  • Free markets give consumers choice and foster innovation
  • Too much regulation stifles growth
  • The tax system should reward hard work, and incentivise investment and innovation
  • Outside of a crisis, government should borrow only for investment – and then only what we can afford
  • Inflation needs to be kept under control
  • Energy needs to be clean and affordable
  • We should reduce barriers to trade, especially with our closest neighbours and the world’s fastest growing economies
  • We should allow people with the skills our economy needs to come here, but only if they do so legally and the numbers are controlled

But prosperity is about more than growth. It is about opportunity and security – great schools, safe streets, strong communities and pride in our country.
